used car dealers here (or do you know of any) in or around Allen, Plano or Frisco that finances people with bad credit, I am looking for a 1988-1994 Full sized Chevrolet Extended cab pickup for under $4800 and I can only put 10% down.

is that those areas probably aren't the best place to look for older cars. You might have to venture around DFW to find the small independent lots and look at their selection. I know some of the midcities have a lot of these. There's a place off of 35 in Lewisville called something like DriveTime that advertises that they target people who have bad credit. You might also try CarMax (you can view their inventory at carmax.com).

2. It depends on how bad your credit is

Drivetime, I think, can get a lot of people done.

Do you have anyone that would co-sign? If your credit's in the 400-500 to low 600 range you'd need a co-signer more than likely.

I'd recommend checking out carmax, as was suggested and also Auto Trader.com.

Can you save a little more to put more down? With a low credit score you're also going to get a higher interest rate.
