6. Wow, what a mess. There's about 10 different stories there

relating to the jail. I would guess that Lupe probably is working hard to fix the problems. And she could probably use your gentle reminder that since she's the public face of the sheriff's office she probably needs to say something. She's one smart cookie. I'm sure she has stuff cooking.

feature a quote from Susan Hayes? What's up with THAT? Hmmm. That story sounds to me like the problem is with the County Commissioners, who are mostly Republican, and who set the budget. I betcha a nickel that Lupe doesn't WANT to make a public statement about the jail, at least not at this date. That story pretty openly blames the commissioners, and Lupe has to work with them. SUSAN, on the other hand, can slam them all she wants and it's pretty much to be expected. I think Lupe's silence on this subject might very well be deliberate.
