Got this email, thought I'd pass it on:
All -- District 133 in far Southwest Houston is presently represented by Republican Joe Nixon, but it is one of the two or three districts in Harris County that we may be able to take from the Republicans. The demographics in the district are changing and there is a strong possibility that Nixon will be running for State Senate, assuming that Sen. Jon Lindsay does not run for reelection.
The district is in three senate districts, 7, 13, & 17. We could not
find a candidate to run against Nixon last time, so this year, we need to start early. Greg Wythe has already begin some work in to district. I'd like to call all the interested parties together before the SDEC meets (on April 16) and Sat. March 26 does not seem to conflict with any area club meetings. Greg says there is a Dennys in the area that has a meeting room that he will try to reserve. I'm thinking about 10 a.m., but perhaps mid afternoon is better. Let me know what you think.
