Who is a member of the TN Federation of Democratic Women?
I just attended my county party's Democratic Women's Club meeting. We're hosting the convention of the TN Federation of Democratic Women's Convention this year. Yeah!!! I'll be a voting delegate at the convention, but what I really want to know is.....will I be seeing other DU'ers at this convention?

April 22nd and 23rd at the Chattanooga Trade and Convention Center.

BTW, Randy Button addressed our club meeting tonight.

2. I became a member when I joined my county party's women's
club. Which county are you in and are you a member of your county's women's group, if one is available? I looked at the national federation of democratic women and didn't see an area that mentioned membership and when I looked at the TN Federation of Democratic Women I was directed to a page on the state party's website giving info. about the convention in April.

Each county should be sending their information in within the next couple of days so you might want to check out your county's women's club. I know that I'm not much help. If you don't get any info. locally send me a PM and I'll see what I can find out about your joining and getting reservations, etc.

4. I looked for info. for a women's club in Robertson County and I
didn't see anything. Are you closer to Davidson? You can join their women's club and then receive the call for convention. I looked around and found the listing for the convention at www.democrats.org/wvc/events and that led me to http://www.wcdemocrats.com/women.html, which is a site for the Williamson County Democratic Women and it lists info. about the convention. There is an e-mail address listed there as a contact for the convention.

I've got a meeting to attend tonight and I will see the president of our club. I just spoke to her via phone and she told me that to attend the business meetings, etc., you need to be a member of a women's club (hence a member of the TN Federation), but she was going to check into how you could attend if you couldn't join a club. There was a woman from Bledsoe County at our last meeting because there isn't a club close to her, but as a member of our club she can attend the convention, etc.

Anyway, I hope that this makes at least a little sense, and I'll see what else I can find out.

in the county closest to you. I have contact info. for the person in Davidson County if that is the closest.

Reservation info. is for the Chattanooga Choo Choo Holiday Inn and you can either call 1-800-TRACK29 (872-2529 or contact them on the web at www.choochoo.com/booking/room/shtml.

Hope this is helpful.

8. Who is a member of the TN Federation of Democratic Women?
I also became a member when I joined my local Demoracit Women's club a few months ago.

So I'd like to ask a question... What are the your local Women's clubs doing in your communities? I have to admit that I'm a bit disappointed in my local club. Frankly, it seems more like a "socal club" than anything else. Not at all what I expected.

9. My club raised and contributed $18,000.00 to different candidates
running for school board, state house, and the US Congress. My club is split in some ways and we've learned to work with it. Some of the older women are more involved in raising money, and state issues, voter registration, and those of us who are more of the activist variety help with the before-mentioned things as well as planning rallies, making phone calls and letter writing. It can sometimes get a little frustrating, but we try.

We recently got some money together to support the Young Democrats with outreach.
