3. I was reading the local papers in my area (Portland and Springfied)
on how people voted in this election. They voted almost 3 to 1 for Bush (vote Democrat usually and county went for Gore in 2000) but voted Democrat 3 to 1 for other offices accept for state senate and Republican won? I know Republicans sure wanted control of TN state senate and I thought this was kinda strange, but I don't know that much about people's voting habits. I just know I vote Democrat down the line in elections.

5. TN is an odd state...
Democrats control state government (governor and both houses of the legislature), yet sends republicans to D.C.

4. Yep, I saw that. Noticed that...
...Kerry lost in 16 counties that Gore won in 2000. He didn't pick off any Bush counties from 2000. I guess the hometown boy factor was bigger than I thought it would be.

6. Hamilton County....
Hamilton 126 126 78,513 <57,268> 506

Well, 4 of these Kerry votes belong to my family. My husband, myself, my mother and my reformed repub step-father.

My mother told me several of her co-workers (elem. school teachers) who don't read newspapers and don't watch news on TV voted for Shrub because that's what their churches told them to do.

7. No Doubt
There are many convenient Christians out there. Their big old churches and their shiny new churches stand stone cold empty all week while the homeless increase in numbers.

Jesus said so many times to help the poor. I just don't understand how people throw all of those teachings away.
