1. Just voted
and the turnout was amazing! I'm in Memphis, my polling place isn't one of the "major" ones, but ten minutes before the doors opened, the line easily contained over 100 people. The poll workers commented that they'd never had this kind of turnout, and most of them have worked the polls for years. At least 25% of the voters in line appeared to be under 30 y/o, which is very surprising to me, as this area is mainly populated by senior citizens.

2. 45 minutes this A.M.
Edited on Tue Nov-02-04 09:37 AM by grumpy old fart
at what is normally a 2 minute in and out location. Big turnout in Memphis could be a real boon to the State's blue numbers, even if the rest of the state is Red(neck).

3. Davidson county is very democratic....
and there are some other middle TN counties that are democratic too. East TN is the most red but I'm hearing good reports from there, too.

4. We've worked HARD in East Tenn
so don't take what you think is "traditional" for this area to the bank. We are turning out the vote and we've laid the groundwork with a MASSIVE and SUCCESSFUL voter registration drive. Hopefully the other areas of our traditional support in Tenn. (Memphis and Nashville) have been working hard as well. Together we'll make Tennessee a blue gift for Kerry/Edwards!

East Tennessee will turn out for Kerry, more Democratic votes will be cast in the counties east of Nashville than ever before!

8. fantastic!
Getting the vote out is the key here. TN can go blue. Call your friends, drive them to the polls if they need a ride. Let's do whatever it takes to take our country back.

11. Ward #11 in Knox County
There wasn't a wait at all but I think that had more to do with the fact that the ballot was so short this time and everyone I know early voted.

12. Up here on the Cumberland Plateau
I went to vote at 8:00. I'm 20, and my brother and friend are 18. Both voted as well. We live in a really small town, and usually voting is a pretty in-and-out process. Today we waited in line for about ten minutes.

I'm going to MSCC, and friends and I have been campaigning hard, getting people to register, etc. Our campus poll numbers were 61%-39%, in favor of Kerry, so I'm hoping that will make a difference overall.

14. Voter turnout has been heavy and Nashville (Davidson County) is in Kerry's
favor, but the rest of the state has gone to the international terrorist, tyrannical dictator and the gay hating, gun toting, bible thumping, inbreds, god help us all. The only good news I can report, is that dem seats in local elections seem to be going dem.
