BLOUNTVILLE — Right Way Marketing received nearly $30,000 from the state of Tennessee and Sullivan County earlier this year, but that doesn’t guarantee success for the local call center.

The company was given $18,000 from the Tennessee Department of Economic & Community Development between January and July this year as part of the state’s FastTrack Job Training Assistance Program.

It also received a $10,000 for givable loan from the Sullivan County Industrial Development Board when it moved from Johnson City to Blountville last spring.

The company’s business looked promising — in mid August it issued a press release saying it needed to hire 50 employ ees immediately to meet client demands.

But less than three weeks later, Right Way Marketing laid off virtually its entire staff. Owner Timothy Hill said the move was necessary after a client suspended its calling center needs. He said the call center is still in business, but would hire only temporary workers as needed for the immediate future.
