New Wal Mart defeated in Cordova

I live in Cordova, near where they wanted to put this new store. I was elated at this news. My husband and I joined in the fight against Wal Mart putting a store at this location, and it was a long, hard one for our community. The intersection is two lanes both ways, and the plot of land is just down the road from an elementary school. Our area simply couldn't have handled the extra traffic. Cordova is already saturated with Wal Marts. Finally, after many meetings and votes and dirty tricks attempted by Wal Mart, victory!

Those elementary kids you mentioned will do lots better in life without WALMART. Local business will have a chance, jobs above minimum wage - with benefits - could potentially appear. And the world's biggest, most profitable, least progressive corporation fails in its universal takeover bid.
