Anyone have info. on the "chicken" chanted at Zach Wamp during the
unPatriot Act vote? I've heard about this from 2 different sources, but I can't find it anywhere.

Apparently Wamp was gonna do the right thing and vote against renewal, but was pressured into going along with it. When he was going to change his vote someone started chanting "chicken" and it got more voices, LOL. He apparently accused a woman within the Congressional Black Caucus of starting it and calling him a chicken and she responded that she had not, but 'I'm doing it now to your face'.

I need some sort of documentation for this. It needs to stick to him like glue.

2. I scanned the Tennessean yesterday and Knox news briefly, but I can't
find anything with the names, etc. and that's what I need. I'll be happy to update when/if I get more info. because this needs to stick all over him.

I remember seeing him (on Frontline I think) prior to the FCC vote. He was going to do the right thing and vote against changing the rules, but he was slinking around and trying to avoid Tauzin 'cause he knew Tauzin wouldn't be happy. My spouse cracked up laughing and said 'he's trying to do the right thing for all of us but look at him hiding like a chicken to do it'.

Chicken Wamp needs to stick.

3. I found this under the section 'Playing Chicken in the House'
www.constitutioncenter.org/explore/ConsitutionNewswire/7332

The partisan storm that erupted on the House floor Thursday briefly spilled into the adjacent Speaker's Lobby, where startled reporters witnessed two lawmakers going toe-to-toe.

Rep. Zach Wamp (R-TN) was miffed at overhearing a fellow lawmaker calling him "a chicken" when he yielded to GOP leadership pressure and switched his vote from aye to nay on an amendment to anti-terrorism legislation.

snip

Wamp turned to Rep. Corrine Brown (D-FL), demanding to know, "Did you call me a chicken?" Brown replied she had not, then followed Wamp out of the chamber and into the Speaker's Lobby to chide him for falsely accusing her.

snip

"It was Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-TX). She was the one calling him a chicken-which he is," Brown said. "I told him to get out of my face." Brown, who like Johnson is African American, added sarcastically, "Of course, we all look alike."

Ha ha ha....I've got a couple of thank you phone calls to make!!! :toast:

5. I called both ladies' offices and asked their staffers to thank them...
The staffers seemed surprised and I mentioned that he doesn't seem to listen to his constituents and thanked them 2 or 3 times.
