Hilleary Asks Funds To Help Keep "Liberal" Corker From Senate
Edited on Sun Jan-01-06 11:34 AM by FreedomAngel82
I don't think Corker is a "liberal". If he's anything it's moderate conservative. I've read he is friends with Phil Bredesen (nothing wrong with that) and he once called Bill Frist a "cat killer". LOL. I think he did okay with running Chattanooga but I like Littlefield way better. In a way I feel bad for Corker. His party thinks he's too liberal and lots of democrats don't trust him.

Snip: <Republican U.S. Senate candidate Van Hilleary is making a plea for campaign funds, saying he needs the money to derail well-financed former Chattanooga mayor Bob Corker.

Mr. Corker, who has a big lead in Senate fundraising totals, has denied he is a liberal.

The Hilleary campaign said, "Did you see the news? Just before Christmas, another piece of good legislation passed the House only to die a cruel death in the Senate.

"Once again, weak Senate Republicans joined hands with Democrat Senators Hillary Clinton, Ted Kennedy and others - this time to kill President Bush's plan to tap more of Alaska's oil reserves.

"The President's plan would have helped bring the high cost of gasoline and heating oil down, as well as helped us become less dependent on Arab oil, which would greatly aid our war on terror.>

1. Ah, poor Van. Maybe he should shut the hell up and be grateful that
Corker and his wife raised a TON of money for Smirk/Sneer in the '00 and '04 campaigns. Sheesh...what an ingrate.

2. Yep
And wasn't it Corker who got Bush to come to Tennessee?

4. I know really
And on a poll on the chattanoogan.com most who did the poll said he was a moderate. I'd say that before I'd say he was a liberal. I didn't follow politics when he was mayor here but I think he did an okay job but I like the mayor now (Littlefield) a lot better than Corker.

5. Did you see the article in last week's paper in which Van was whining
again about Ford, Jr. attending out of state fundraisers and receiving out of state funds? I don't recall his whining about all of the money that Alexander received during his senate run. I was laughing, until the utter hypocritical, whining factor kicked in.
