2. I'm curious...
...will there be more people of a liberal mind there or more freepers. I understand that not all of the 3 star letters were political. But for those that were. Did more lean right or left?

3. I didn't go to the dinner, but I do work at the Tennessean
and I can honestly say it is a great place to work.

4. Tennessean shenanigans
I was the one who wrote the article about the hypocrisy of censoring Doonesbury on the basis of being a "family newspaper" while still accepting advertising for strip clubs in the Sports section.

Of course, the Tennessean's headline for my letter was completely out of touch with the subject of my letter. My beef was with the hypocrisy of the newspaper, but the header read "Sex Ads Far Worse than Doonesbury". That wasn't my point at all. I simply stated that if you're going to ban Doonesbury because it's in the comic section where children might see it, then you should ban the stripper ads because they're in the sports section where children might see them. Of course, I don't want the stripper ads banned, and I don't want valid political commentary banned either.

5. Daryl, I remember your article and I understand
where you're coming from, but I don't make the decisions at the Tennessean on what they decide to put in the paper. (I do agree with you) Gayle
