WOMEN OF SOUTH DAKOTA - STAND TOGETHER FOR CHOICE
Just thought I would post this here in case you have not yet gotten an email from anyone with the particulars. Here is the text of the email I received this am regarding this event.


National Day of Solidarity
Communities across the nation are holding rallies on Thursday to stand with the women of South Dakota
and show their support and solidarity against the legislature's assault on women's reproductive rights.

Rally Against the Abortion Ban
Thursday, March 9, 2006
12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
Rapid City Federal Building/Courthouse
515 9th Street, Rapid City, SD
&
Sioux Falls Federal Courthouse
400 South Phillips Avenue, Sioux Falls, SD

My fiance lives in SD, and I am planning to move there. He and I are very much on the same page politically, as are his friends and family.

I'm very concerned about this legislation in terms of the larger picture and what it could mean for all of us nationwide. Even if it doesn't really go anywhere, I think the messages are significant.

But on a personal level (I'm a Northeastern librul!), I'm uncomfortable about living in a place where fundie wingers predominate, which is the impression I'm getting, particularly as of late.

Please say it ain't so.

I am hoping that the majority of people in SD DO NOT want this, and they make their feelings known.
