DIRECTIONS: From the Haines Street Exit off I-90, head south, in the direction of downtown.
Take the first left (east) onto Knollwood Drive (at Taco Johns)

FRIDAY, October 21
6:30 PM Doors open: Register -- Visit issue displays and tables

7:15 PM Welcome. Opening invocation by an indigenous elder
"The Death Penalty System is Broken," by former Death Row inmate RAY KRONE. Introduced by Pastor Dennis Reich. A Declaration of Life signing ceremony follows, accompanied by indigenous drum and song. Reception with refreshments afterward.

SATURDAY, October 22
8:45 AM Registration & coffee

9:30 AM Welcome. Opening prayer
SAVE OUR VOTE! Activist panel discusses political, economic, and environmental implications of the attack on citizen right of initiative and referendum by interests promoting industrial-scale agriculture in South Dakota. Jerry Wilson; Vernon "Ike" Schmidt; Jeanne Koster. Rosalie Little Thunder facilitates.

11:00 AM ISSUE BRIEFINGS on activist projects that currently engage Peace & Justice Center members. Visit two briefings, 30 minutes at each briefing -- EYES WIDE OPEN! recruitment intervention;
Innocence Project; Veggie Bus & SOA/WHISC trip; more . . . .

NOON LUNCHEON. Peace & Justice Center Board President Rosalie Little Thunder officiating. Annual AWARDS. NOMINATION of CANDIDATES for board election. RAFFLE drawing.

2:00 PM Iraq Veteran Against the War JIMMY MASSEY tells how he became a conscientious objector. Introduced by Robyn Blair. Discussion and media opportunity follow.

3:40 PM Sing 'Em Home -- Songwriter TERI VEON POWELL closes our meeting with a teach-along sing-along, sending us home with a poignant and powerful song in our hearts.
