(SC) Unemployment Reaches 7.1 Percent
Edited on Sun Dec-18-05 12:12 AM by Skip Intro
Columbia, SC - South Carolina's unemployment rate reached seven-point-one per-cent in November - matching the previous highest for the year recorded in February.

The rate was up from six-point-nine per-cent in October, when the state had the third-highest unemployment rate in the nation behind the hurricane-ravaged states of Mississippi and Louisiana.

--------

Sam McClary with the South Carolina Employment Security Commission says he hopes the jobless rate has "topped out" but that things could get worse before they get better.

McClary says a lot depends on Christmas hiring, but early indications are that seasonal employment will be down from previous years.

1. Well...
It is sadly apparent that the state of my ancestors has quaffed the Lotus Frappe' and found it good. They got them some book learnin' there, they should be able to figure out just why their economy sucks so enormously. Then maybe, just maybe, they will stop electing skaliwags that sell them down the river.

But I ain't holdin' my breath.

2. Come to California

and pick farm crops. There's a farm labor shortage because of (relative) success in tightening up the border immigration - and some of the farm workers doibng better-paying construction work.
