Upstaters
Any opinions on Greenville County Councilman Tony Trout? On the one hand, he's a Repub, but he did oust one of the religious nuts and helped get MLK passed. He's also stirring shit up for the rest of the council, including Scott Case.

The council Democrats seem to like him.

Thoughts?

2. Nope, Columbia here
and points coastal.

My father grew up in G-ville after the family lost their Fairfield County farm in 1937. My grandparents remained there until the end and I have a cousin or two there. However, that's about all.

Anyway, hello from the midlands and welcome to DU.

:hi:

5. Being from "Columbia" proper
we always called them "Irmites". :)

But, then again, I'm kind of a coastal transplant in G-town County myself. So, who am I to talk? Maybe our boats will cross wakes in the Waccamaw River...

10. Junkie- I was raised in the upstate (Simpsonville)and still......
keep in touch with the upstate. I've heard good things about Trout. Anyone who goes up against the religious right in the land of Bob Jones is truly doing God's work.
