Teen heads to court after discovery of buried fetus
Source: WMBF

A 16-year-old arrested in connection to skeletal remains discovered in Horry County on Dec. 7 will appear in court on Tuesday. An attorney for the teen says she is expected to enter a guilty or not guilty plea.

Officers with the Horry County Police Department were dispatched to a location on 17th Avenue North in Surfside Beach around 3 a.m. after pictures of a deceased fetus were found on a 16-year-old's phone. Other pictures shown to authorities upon arrival included what appeared to be a burial for the fetus.

Police say the mother of the 16-year-old girl went to an address on Woodwinds Drive in Conway, where she dug up the skeletal remains of the fetus herself.

"She recognized the place as being a place they previous resided," said Sgt. Robert Kegler, spokesman for the Horry County Police Department.

1. It hinges on whether or not there's been a live birth. nt

2. How Do We Know There Was An Abortion?
Edited on Tue Dec-15-09 11:57 AM by NashVegas
This story contains no details about the age of the foetus or how it met its death. At this point, it's all speculation.

on edit: earlier stories indicate it was a stillbirth. Sounds like a 16 year old girl has been charged with coming from a shitty family that offers no emotional support.

3. The family sounds crazy, but so does this!
"Christenson said his department then received a call early Monday asking officers to return to her home. The woman told police she had found pictures of a deceased fetus on her daughter's phone and had copied them to her computer."

Pictures on her phone? What the heck?

6. I Think That Fits In Under "Crazy Family"
On top of that the quote where the mom talks about having her daughter's support, while it's the KID who's sitting in custody, says yards.
