Republicans predicting DeMint will beat Beasley
Republicans in South Carolina are privately predicting that Rep. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) will win the GOP Senate nomination June 22, narrowly edging out former Gov. David Beasley (R).

Beasley captured 37 percent of the vote in Tuesday’s Republican primary, compared to DeMint’s 26 percent. Four other candidates trailed the two front-runners.

According to many Republicans’ reasoning, Beasley, with his statewide name recognition, has topped off; anyone who planned to vote for him would have in the first round.

DeMint, the thinking goes, has nowhere to go but up. Yesterday morning, developer Thomas Ravenel, who came in a close third in the primary, endorsed DeMint.

1. I agree
I don't see Beasley picking up many of Ravenel or Condon's voters. That's too bad. I think DeMint is bit more fundementally radical than Beasley, and I think Inez would stand a better chance against Beasley.

2. Actually I think that Inez has a better chance against DeMint
because he is so fundamentally radical. We have on record where DeMint said that those making $75,000 and below are the "poor" class and that they are the non-tax paying citizens. And that we should shift the tax base since they (I) do not pay taxes.

I think with statements like these we can more easily beat DeMint than Beasley.

4. DeMint was indirectly involved in 2000 Florida vote recount
fiasco.

Miami-Dade vote recount demonstration was staged

On November 22nd a violent demonstration occurred in Miami in protest to a recount of the Miami-Dade ballots. This demonstration was initially reported as a spontaneous outburst by local Miami citizens, due to Republican insistence that is was such, and shown on local and national television. This demonstration lead to the ceasing of recounts of Miami ballots.

It turns out that the demonstration was an organized Republican demonstration of party loyalists who were called to Miami (with all expenses paid) and organized to incite violence and disrupt the recounts in Miami, a heavily Democratic county.

This picture is a frame from the television broadcast of the event. The people in the picture have all been identified as Republican Party loyalists from outside of Miami.

Recent history is a fascinating thing..
