State Senator Allen Kukovich is being targeted by gOP (Scaife)

Allen is one of the legislative fathers of the CHIP program (children's health insurance program).

He is pro-choice, pro-environment, and pro-civil rights!

Allen is one of the few politicians.....STATESMEN that makes me proud to work in politics.. but...

He is being targeted by a fellow named regola who was a Democrat until about 18 mos ago when he switched parties. regola is running a nasty race and is hoping to sway voters based on racism and bigotry...regola has been given a $1 million dollar war chest to play with in an area where normally state senate races don't exceed $200K...so you know they are desparate to win...

So I am asking all of you to help us out here in Westmoreland County!!!!

2. Latest News in Dirty GOP race -- Kukovich SUED by Scaife's paper!

Hi, I'm new, and I can only second all the good things that bleedingheart has said about Allen Kukovich. He is truly a wonderful man, a leader of the PA Democratic Party, and yes the GOP has targeted him to bring him down. This is a race to watch (and help with if you can) -- Allen has a dirty, dirty campaign being waged against him here.

The kicker that came out Friday is that Allen Kukovich has now been SUED by Richard Scaife's "Tribune-Review" newspaper!! (You may recall this is the paper whose reporter Teresa Heinz Kerry told to "shove it" -- God bless her!).

Kukovich quoted information found in "Trib" articles to point out the paltry Township Supervisor record of his his former Democrat turned ultra-conservative GOP challenger Bob Regola. Allen had everything he said thrown back in his face by "The Trib". They claim that Kukovich misquoted their rag by reporting that his challenger had a part in mis-investing his township's pension fund which lost money. Are you confused? So are the voters, except that the message Scaife is putting out is big-time that Kukovich is bad. Now the Tribune-Review Publishing Company has SUED ALLEN KUKOVICH -- I think of course to make him go from looking bad to worse. Hopefully Westmoreland County voters are smart enough to see through the big money and smears. The Regola campaign has pushed every hot button and petty issue they can in this race. No attack by the Regola camp has been below the belt. In the meantime, Scaife's "Trib" newspaper and the 10 or so other media outlets he owns in the region have opened fire and declared open season on Allen Kukovich. Karl Rove is trickling down to the lower levels of the GOP, that's for sure. This is dirty, dirty politics folks, and should Allen Kukovich go down, it will be Max Cleland played out again on a State Senate scale. WATCH THIS RACE! HELP IF YOU CAN!
