The Real Arlen Specter
The Real Arlen Specter
http://therealspecter2010.com/therealarlen

The Real Arlen Specter has been a long-time Republican for 45 years and has spent the past 29 years in Washington, DC. The Real Arlen Specter spent the last eight years proudly voting, over 2,000 times, in support of the Bush Administration policies that undermined our standing around the world, and at home caused this savage recession. The Real Arlen Specter has stood with his fellow Republicans George Bush, Dick Cheney, John McCain, Sarah Palin, and Rick Santorum ... time after time after time.

During the past 45 years, the Real Arlen Specter has dedicated himself to keeping a Republican majority in the Senate, and keeping Republicans in office in Pennsylvania. He's raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for Republican Senators like Rick Santorum, Jon Kyl, Mike DeWine and Orrin Hatch. He's raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for Pennsylvania’s Republican Party and officials.

The Real Arlen Specter campaigned for, raised money for, and personally voted for George Bush & Dick Cheney, and for John McCain & Sarah Palin. He chaired the Bush-Cheney ’04 campaign in Pennsylvania. The Real Arlen Specter recently said that he voted for John McCain & Sarah Palin because "they were the better choice."

The Real Arlen Specter's votes in support of President Bush’s agenda have harmed working families and the middle class. The Real Arlen Specter opposes the Employee Free Choice Act. The Real Arlen Specter voted for the Hutchinson amendment to the Lily Ledbetter Act that would have prevented employees from challenging pay discrimination unless they complained within six months of the first discriminatory paycheck and would have completely cut off a woman’s right to challenge ongoing pay discrimination. The Real Arlen Specter voted against allowing states to expand the States’ Children’s Health Insurance Program to include low-income pregnant women. The Real Arlen Specter voted to tie an increase in the minimum wage to allowing some employers to eliminate paying overtime. And when it came to President Obama's budget for health care, energy, and education reform, the Real Arlen Specter joined with his Republican Party brethren and voted against it.

The Real Arlen Specter switched parties simply for his own political survivability because after last year's election there are 1.1 million more registered Democrats than Republicans in the state of Pennsylvania, and his polling data showed he could not win running as a Republican.

The Real Arlen Specter got the U.S. Senate to shut down and stop the "people's work" so that he could leave early and attend a fundraiser for him.

The Real Arlen Specter has shown that keeping his job is his number one priority.

The Real Arlen Specter puts politics above principles -- and the needs of Pennsylvania.

2. Har
If Specter is the nominee it'll all but guarantee a Toomey win. Both Sestak and Specter are polling behind him right now, and if we put Specter forward, the Democrats are going to stay home just like they did for Coakley in Mass. and you can say hi to Senator Toomey.

An actual democrat who gets out there and stumps has a chance of getting people out there to vote for him. People just aren't going to go do it for Specter.

It shocks me how many people have been apparently duped by Specter's blatant selfish switch and suddenly are behind him as if he's been such a solid Democrat. Hell he was barely voting as a Dem. even after his switch. He only jumped up to an over 90% rating AFTER Sestak challenged him.

If you think he'll not be a thorn in our sides if he wins you're fooling yourself.

3. This is an excellent effort by the Toomey
team, led by Sestak and Republican campaign office head Pam Iovino.

Pennsylvania is not Massachusetts and No Show Joe is also
unheard of Joe. People arent going to vote for someone they've never
heard of before. You can theorize all you want.... thats a given.

5. I agree
In today's anti-incumbent environment, which both D/Rs now face, it is absurd to think that an 80yo life long Republican political hack such as Specter would win over Democrats or Independents. To run Specter is the same as giving the election to Toomey. Knowing the way the 2 party system now plans and works, (some would say against most Americans and Constitution) it wouldn't surprise me if that wasn't in the plan.

These politicos bend over backwards not to make waves or deal with corruption for either side but they do nothing for the people....John Yoo and Jay Bybee torture memos coverup being one recent example.

Specter made a self-interest deal with Obama to become a Democrat, not because he wanted to become a Democrat but because he knew he couldn't win the Republican primary against Toomey in the current environment. The only reason Obama made the deal was to get to 60 Democratic Senators which has proven to be an immense waste of time.
