US Senate Candidate Steve Novick Announces Support for Obama

Oregon's own US Senate candidate Steve Novick (www.novickforsenate.org) announced why he is supporting Barack Obama today:

1. I really like Novick, but have you read his endorsement???

It is one of the most confused, amaturish, endorsements I have ever read (and I'm a seriously old fart).

He starts out listing his endorsee's (Barak's) negatives, and praising Hillary. Completely back-f'ing-asswards. I've been all about Novick for Senate. I've been curious as to who he would endorse. With this single statement, he demonstrated he doesn't have the chops necessary to survive in the Senate. And Merkely is not exactly chopped liver.

I still think Novick is awesome, and will happily support him in almost any congressional race he chooses to enter. But this endorsement of Obama, as clear as anything, demonstrates that Novick is not quite ready for 'the Show".

He is, however, I think ready for Hooley's seat. Let's put him in the AAA league and see what he can do.

Let's send Merkley to the majors. He's ready.

3. Wednesday I mailed my re-registration form

in to become a Democrat again so that I could vote for Steve. The environmental work he has done, including his work on the Love Canal case 1st got me interested. But when he stood against LNG before any other Oregonian politician (w/the exception of Bill Bradbury), I was sold.

Jeff Merkley lost my support when he accepted Gov. Kulongoski's endorsement. For over four years, Kulongoski refused to meet w/anyone from the NO LNG movement. It wasn't until February 6 after a rally on the capitol steps, that the gov finally began making small noises about rethinking LNG in our state.

Moreover, his stance on the biggest issues are the same as mine.
