Since my car got stolen shortly after I got here, I have no means to get to the coast. But even if I did, I won't have the time until January. And I'm guessing that's not a very good time to visit the coast! So when in the spring does it get nice again there? Or would it be better to just wait until summer?

from the drier, much colder, and redder side of the Cascades in Oregon.

It's 20 degrees out there, and past time to get out to the barn to feed. I love the loooong summer days in the north, but this coldest, darkest, never-see-daylight outside of work part of the year is tough.
