1. will do
will share with son in Portland. We were fortunate to see Kerry in Portland in May. Wonder if repugs will hire homeless people again to hold anti-Kerry signs?

3. Seriously?
I hadn't heard that, but of course nothing surprises me anymore about the depths to which this mis-administration will go. I'm sure they'd justify paying homeless to carry signs, never once considering just why these folks are homeless. Geez...as always, I can only say--

Bush MUST GO!!

5. I was there too
I actually didn't notice any anti-Kerry signs. Only the group of LaRouchies. It was a great event! I was standing right below Kerry-Dean when they arrived on that balcony thing. In fact, I was the lady trying to fish the T-Shirt out of the water. I lost. :( I'll see you there next Friday!

9. Supposedly, he'll be appearing in Eugene Friday morning.
No details as to time or place yet. Heard on KLCC.
http://www.klcc.org

It would have to be first thing in the morning, since he's going to Portland later in the day.

They are spending Thursday night/Friday morning in Eugene. They're flying in. That's all I know for now.

This time, I'm volunteering to work at John Kerry's rally.

May the Great Magnet grant us a smooth and successful operation.

14. Hint: pick an e-z-to-find place a few blocks away from the rally site
Edited on Thu Aug-12-04 10:25 PM by 0rganism
There are going to be tens of thousands of people there tomorrow. It's a freaking rock concert, and the Bite is happening at the same damn time. "SW corner of 3rd and Columbia at 11am" will work, but "near the porta potties" probably won't.

15. I was thinking more like somewhere after the rally
when people are dispersing. The thing is supposed to start at 10:00, but you know how that works....

Kell's might be a good choice.

16. Kell's will be an interesting choice, everyone will be going there :D
The trick will be fitting in the door. 60,000 people going straight from the rally to Kells....

The Thing will open to the public at 10:00am, but the Happenings won't really be rolling until after 11:00am. I don't expect Kerry's cadre to get started before noon. The Thing will probably be goin' until 3:00pm at least.

It will be HOT tomorrow. Water will be provided for the teeming masses, but you might want to bring in some of your own.

The Thing is going to be a BLAST!

17. I'll be there!
Edited on Fri Aug-13-04 05:18 AM by depakote_kid
Since i don't know exactly where the stage will be it would be hard to pick a place to meet during the rally.

However, I will be wearing big white a T-shirt with a big picture of Emeliano Zapata on the back- maybe you'll spot me. (yeah, I know, fat chance....).

18. It would be practically impossible to meet by design in the rally
The stage is just SW of the Hawthorne bridge. There are about 7000 "1st class" ticket holders who will be closest to the stage. Then there's "coach class" seating south of that, in the "bowl". I'm volunteering to help with telling folks where to go and what to do when they get there, so you might see me "ushing" around the edges.
