Howard Dean in Portland Wednesday night!
He's heading up a DPO (Democratic Party of Oregon) event. It's in NW, and it's only $10! You can register online!

http://www.dpo.org/

Anyone interested in going? I'm probably going to go.

1. Nobody's interested?

:-(

If anyone changes their mind, I'm going. We could meet up at the New Old Lompoc beforehand. Just let me know.

2. Notes from the event! (Pictures to come)
It was very exciting and optimistic! If someone can point me in the direction of a picture hosting web site, I can post some of my pics.

Earl Blumenauer is far more fiery and charismatic than I originally thought. He said that the first thing Speaker Pelosi would put on the agenda was ensuring the integrity of the voting process. He mentioned how both Katherine Harris and Blackwell are going down in flames in their respective states.

Wyden was pumped as well, and he alluded to his filibuster, which the crowd loved. As with Blumenauer, I was surprised to see him so lively and passionate. Must have been the partisan crowd.

Kulongoski was fired up, and he spoke very passionately. He mentioned schools, health care, and Saxton's desire to cater to the rich and put more of a burden on the middle class.

Howard Dean was awesome, as usual. He alluded to the 50 state policy and how every individual's vote should count, not just those in the most populated counties, regions, and/or states.

One thing that really impressed me is that none of the politicians spoke from notes. All had their ideas committed to memory, and there were no flubs or hemming and hawing. They got their ideas across in an extremely fluid, eloquent, and coherent manner. Not sure if this is a result of the profession they're in, lots of practice, or just natural talent and intelligence, but it was impressive, none the less.

6. Pictures, finally!
Here they are. I hope you guys like 'em!

Here's Ron Wyden. He was the easiest to get a picture of, since he is tall. Sorry it's so grainy.

Ted at the podium.

Fiery Ted, getting in his best line of the evening: "These conservatives keep looking in their rear view mirror and think they're going forward!"

My rep, Earl Blumenauer, sans bowtie and spectacles!—I was shocked. Shocked, I tell you!

And last, but not least, Howard Dean, just seconds before I got to shake his hand! I was so tongue-tied that all I could do was thank him for everything he's been doing!

That's all for now, folks!
