Tommy Tucker, 25 year old soldier kidnapped in Iraq
is from my town of Madras, Oregon. Population slightly over 5,000. The media is all over the place here. God bless his family and may he be found safe and sound!

I hate to even call this a "positive" note but take it as you will. This morning, in talking to several republicans in the community, I was surprised to hear them denigrate the war in Iraq. Having a hometown boy kidnapped makes this war seem real to them quite possibly for the first time. They were all in agreement that there is no further reason for our troops to be over there, and this death spiral will continue until they are brought home.

Keep your fingers crossed for both men that they are alive and ok.

2. My very deep sympathy to his family and everyone who knew him.
The people of Madras must be in terrible pain right now.
