Supreme Court Upholds Oregon Suicide Law

By now you've probably already heard, but here's to good old Oregon States Rights! We voted for this thing at least twice!

WASHINGTON - The Supreme Court, with Chief Justice John Roberts dissenting, upheld Oregon's one-of-a-kind physician-assisted suicide law Tuesday, rejecting a Bush administration attempt to punish doctors who help terminally ill patients die. Justices, on a 6-3 vote, said that federal authority to regulate doctors does not override the 1997 Oregon law used to end the lives of more than 200 seriously ill people. New Chief Justice John Roberts backed the Bush administration, dissenting for the first time.

BTW, when I called his office to say that I don't support alito, gordo puke puke's staffer tried to tell me that he's a moderate. Told him gordo may have wrapped the moderate flag around himself, but he's a rw nut. Pointed out some facts & the staffer just coughed & said something like "I'll pass your comments along, goodbye".
