Vigils in Oregon
I saw on Moveon.org the vigils in Eugene and in Portland, but can you guys let me know if you went to any others? I saw a snippet on the Central Oregon news station this morning that there was one in Bend. I have a broken foot with a cast and crutches, but I might have tried to get to it had I known. There had to be other vigils around the state. Please list any that you know of.

1. I didn't hear of anything, but saw...
last night in Newport, Oregon there was a protest along highway 101,
about 7:30pm. I honked and so forth and the signs looked like "stop the war" and I thought I saw support Cindy Sheeham there too. I didn't stop in for I was on my way south on business,
but I also don't know who is organizing this stuff, no notices, nada.
Newport, Oregon is not a big town (10k ?) so this activity was suprising and I do not know who is behind it.

5. Great!
It is so good to hear people are getting out to do these vigils. But the rest of us need to know in time to get to them!

I was on vacation last week in the Sierras and we drove through a small town on the north side of Lake Tahoe, just west of Incline Village. I was so tired and hot I was half asleep (no I wasn't driving) and we were at a stop light when I realized that all the cars around us were honking. I looked around and there was about 15 senior citizens holding signs and wearing anti-bush tshirts. It was WONDERFUL! In Central Oregon people are too scared to speak up! I put a Kerry sign in my yard and caught grief about it at work (not from the boss but from repuke coworkers). I know it is my right, but I, along with a lot of other folks.. sometimes just go the easy route and don't bring attention to myself. You know what they say about politics and religion.

I have decided that Fridays are blue days, because I got this stupid email from a repuke coworker about wearing red on fridays to support Bush/the troops. :puke: You better believe, for me to wear red on Fridays from now on, well.. it would have to be blood!
I want to do more! It feels like Bush is on the ropes. Unfortunately I fractured my heel bone while hiking in Lassen NP and now have a cast and crutches :(

Need some more good news! :kick:

4. I was on KBOO!
The vigil sponsored by Code Pink at Eastport Plaza had a wonderful turnout. I was so jazzed by all the positive honking and peace signs from the passersby that I didn't realize the gal I was talking to had a mic in her hand.

Besides the sad news today about Cindy's mom, I also didn't find out until today that the reason for the increased traffic on 82nd where we were Wednesday night was because of a horrible accident on I-205 that resulted in a fatality. We need a day with nothing but good news; we're way past due.

6. There's one scheduled in downtown Bend tonight.

Bring a candle, a sign, a smile and prayer.

7. This is good to know, thanks.
Now that I know they're here, I'll keep an eye out for the Central Oregon Peace Network.
