I met Dennis Kucinich tonight
I shook his hand. I mingled with other Democrats. I listened to him speak.

Dennis is inspirational. He is still campaigning with a message of hope and courage. The seeds he's planting now will bear fruit in a few years. Remember, he was voted out of his mayorship in Cleveland for refusing to sell off the public utilities to a private interest (sound familiar?), which then used its ties to a major bond underwriter to cause Cleveland to default on its debts. After a decade of exploitation, the ratepayers called Dennis out of retirement to represent them in the legislature and congress, because they found out for themselves that he was right.

Dennis continues to be correct on the issues, but once again he's ahead of his time. If you haven't filled out your ballot yet, consider voting for Kucinich. Every delegate he wins makes his message stronger at the convention.

1. I may vote for DK...
...I have until 8pm tomorrow. I sure appreciate the way he conducts himself. He's right about the issues. I love the guy. A cabinet level position in a Department of Peace! Brilliant!
Does JK need my vote in the primary? Can I help DK get a delegate and influence the platform?
I'm thinking....

4. Kerry is pretty much a lock
Edited on Tue May-18-04 02:34 AM by 0rganism
Looks like Dean is campaigning for him now, too. Kerry is going to be the nominee, with or without Oregon's primary vote, we're barely meaningful to the Kerry. But we could be Kucinich's first win. IMAGINE what would happen if DK ACTUALLY WON A STATE?

Sen. Kerry is going to be a strong candidate, no doubt about it. I'm going to vote for him with a smile in November, glad to have a strong and intelligent candidate in position to unseat the usurper. However, Rep. Dennis Kucinich is one of the few in the Democratic party who I can honestly say really speak for me on the issues. Every delegate Kucinich wins is a greater chance for views I support unconditionally to appear in the Democratic platform.

Conversely, every delegate he doesn't win, from here on out, is a measure of complacency and satisfaction with where the party stands now. I cannot say that I'm satisfied with the way things are. A vote for DK is a vote for a progressive future.

5. I think I will vote for DK...
...I like several of the members of the Progressive Caucus, DK and Peter De Fazio among them.
BTW, I've been reading some of Robert M. Price's anthologies of 'Cthulhu Mythos' fiction. I've really enjoyed Lin Carter's Xothic Cycle. He's got his own wing of the mythos based around Mu, Ponape, Easter Island, the hideous plateau of Leng. A South Pacific wing of the CM...

3. as Kerry likes to call it, a protest vote
Primary is over so if you like Kucinich's positions give him a vote.

It will only help bring his issues to the Democratic platform, which
is what he's trying to do.
