Gay beaten at Grove, OK high school...

I have heard, through one of my wife's co-workers, that a gay student at Grove High School, got beaten in the, not to distant past. I haven't been able to find any information on it. I believe, there was an article in the Joplin Globe, but I cannot find it either. I'm wondering if any of you Okies has heard anything about this, or not. Thanks. BTW, I'm from SE Alaska, and I'm in SW Missouri at current. I get all my health care in Oklahoma, through IHS, at the clinic at Jay, and the Claremore Indian Hospital...:)

Gay Student Sues School Over Alleged Bullying

(Grove, Oklahoma) A gay teenager claims school officials in Grove failed to provide him with a safe environment, resulting in an assault by another student.

In the claim, Bullis alleges he was injured in an attack by another student November 8th in the Grove High School cafeteria. According to the claim, the student said he attacked Bullis because he is gay.

A National Honor Society student, Bullis claims the attack was part of "systematic harassment and bullying" which resulted in his transfer to the Grove Alternative School.

Bullis is seeking more than 10-thousand dollars in damages. He is represented by Miami (MY-AM-uh) attorney Erik Johnson.

Thanks, i appreciate it, sometimes my searching skills on line aren't all that freaking great. The incident doesn't surprise me though. I have inlaws in Grove, who are GLBT's, and they get harrassed quite a bit, its just sad that things like this happen...:(
