Capri Cafaro spotted in the 13th district now
Edited on Mon Nov-14-05 10:21 AM by TheBorealAvenger
I was listening to "Newsnight Akron", the tv show on WEAO/WNEO with Vincent Duffy. There was some Democrats' annual dinner in the thirteents district and those running for Sherrod Brown's seat were there. Capri Cafaro was among them.

Tom Sawyer is likely to make a play for that seat, as was one man whose name I cannot recall. He was described as having been around the party for a long time and was due for a chance.

1. Determined, isn't she?
At least she can afford it.

2. Oh God, not her!! Not in my district!!
Please let there be somebody else viable who can run. I will NOT vote for Capri Cafaro. If she is on the ballot in November 2006, I will leave it blank. The corruption she was involved in with dad's business is sickening.

If Sawyer is willing relocate a few miles, then he certainly would be a good candidate.

3. You don't have to live in the district to run for the seat...
Sawyers old district takes in a good chunk of this one...

4. Right, but he would have to relocate if he wins
While holding the actual Congressional seat, one has to have principal residence in the district.

BTW, didn't Louis Stokes get around this by setting up his official mailing address at a rental property he owned while living outside the district?

I live in Sawyer's old district, so he does have a lot of familiar territory. The line dividing the 13th and the 17th districts is not far from his house at all.

5. Good... Cause Tom is a good guy....
The Unions went after Tom, saw him as a sacrifical lamb.... Because he supported NAFTA... That's why the districts were collapsed....

He later recanted his support of NAFTA, but they went after him anyway.

Most of those union leaders in Akron are right wing Republicans anyway. I dealt with some of them during another campaign - they're all Rush Limbaugh fans.

I'll tell you what, if Capri decides to run, so will I.
