Is their any poll info available on Hackett & Schmidt?
Someone on Ed Schultz message board just posted that "Schmidt has a 17% lead over Hackett with 20% undecided"

But they didn't provide a source and they've since logged off of that message board. http://edschultz.invisionzone.com/

Throughout this entire campaign.. seems like the only thing I haven't seen posted anywhere are poll numbers between the two.

Ohio DU'ers: Is Schmidt really ahead in the polls or was that person full of it?!? :scared:

1. MSNBC reported the same on countdown tonight
with a few disclaimers, I think that there weren't a lot of polls, and the one that was run was run by schmidt's office, if I remember right - but I'm not going to swear to that last part.

And about 1 out of 5 voters undecided.

2. That poll could be old
I'm obviously not in Ohio so I'm not close to the situation. I can only read what other people say, BUT as you may know, Hackett's campaign has been gaining alot of steam and picked up some big endorsements. It could be much closer than people realize.

4. this is a very tough district
if Adolph Hitler himself ran as a Republican, he'd have a good shot at winning.

5. Ok, whew, they said it was a "Schmidt campaign conducted poll"
Edited on Wed Jul-27-05 09:04 PM by larissa
They came back on Ed's site and said the same thing- the numbers came from Schmidt's campaign.

I'm sure that makes a HUGE difference!!

~~ :patriot: ~~ Make us proud Ohio.. give our nation Hackett !!

6. it can
sometimes campaign polls are more accurate unless its a poll designed for public distribution. As a strategist, if I were them I'd want a poll with closer results because the only way they lose is with low Republican turnout.

8. I read that the only polls that had been done
were done by the Schmidt campaign and that they were keeping the numbers to themselves.

But if it weren't close, they wouldn't be fighting so hard and so dirty. Even Republicans would like to win clean IF THEY COULD.

9. Keep banging people
This can be won if we push back against these whackjobs. I would love to see that district go away from the dark side. This shouldnt be that hard with how the thugs have ruined everything theyve touched.

Push man PUSH...

10. aggregate poll #s
take this for what it is worth:

The NRCC conducted a poll earlier this week (there is another poll in the field, but no idea by who), that showed the poor numbers. The numbers were leaked by a Republican who is part of a group that doesn't see eye to eye with Schmidt on certain issues.

In response, the National Republican Congressional Campaign Committee has just dumped $285,000 into an astounding 1800+ point ad buy that will start running Friday through Tuesday. This is public record.

Now Jean Schmidt is scurrying to round up to volunteers from her primary opposition in a last ditch effort to counter Paul Hackett's overwhelming advantage on-the-ground. To the shock of the GOP, Hackett is also going toe-to-toe on television as well in terms of dollars. The free press because of Paul's service has been huge as well. I overheard the campaign manager (I believe) of Schmidt's campaign say to a Hackett staffer, "I have no idea how the hell you guys are raising this much money." They are worried.
