Akron B-J: Congressman Brown won't run for governor
Brown's decision to stay in the U.S. House left Columbus Mayor Michael Coleman as the only announced Democratic candidate. Rep. Ted Strickland, D-Ohio, and Akron Mayor Don Plusquellic both have announced that they won't run for governor.

Trash TV talk show host Jerry Springer and Lee Fisher, the former Ohio attorney general and 1998 Democratic gubernatorial candidate, are still weighing their options. Fisher runs the Center for Families and Children social-service agency in Cleveland.

...snip...

Sen. Mike DeWine, R-Ohio, is up for re-election in 2006, but Brown said he won't oppose him. Strickland is considering whether to run against DeWine, spokesman Chad Tanner said Tuesday.

Brown said instead, he would start a new organization called "Grow Ohio" to recruit Democratic candidates, raise money and get Democrats to vote.

2. No presidential race
I have never heard of Kucinich hinting he would run for Senate or Governor.

Candidate for governor vows to fight for jobs, education, pension security

Saturday, May 21, 2005

-- In his first foray onto the campaign trail for Ohio governor, U.S. Rep. Ted Strickland roused cheers from hundreds of unionized public school employees.

Strickland, a southern Ohio Democrat, was ushered into the Hyatt Regency ballroom to the theme song twice used by Bill Clinton, "Don't Stop Thinking About Tomorrow."

He pledged to 500 members of the Ohio Association of Public School Employees that he would fight for a constitutional school-funding formula if elected, to rebuild Ohio's public school system.

Characterizing this as "a time of great moral crisis" in Ohio, the steelworker's son said he got into the governor's race because he "could no longer be satisfied with sitting on the sidelines and watching my state disintegrate."...
