Who here knows anything about Tom Brinkman?? Introducing legislation to

outlaw abortion completely. Anyone know anything about this or about him and his other legislation (if it's ever passed, what kind of support he gets from constiuents, etc.)

Ohio Representative Tom Brinkman will soon introduce legislation in the Ohio House of Representatives that would outlaw abortion in Ohio. This bill would even make it a felony to transport a woman across state lines to obtain an abortion - no exceptions, not even to save the life of the woman, not even in the case of rape or incest!


According to the Columbus Dispatch, the purpose of this bill is to completely outlaw abortion in Ohio and to overturn Roe v. Wade. This challenge to Roe v. Wade could succeed if President Bush is able to add just two new anti-choice Justices to the Supreme Court.

wouldn't that be ruled unconstitutional immediately? Of course the idea is to point out that republicans are good and democrats are evil, not to actually do anything about abortion :eyes:

just wondered how many extreme bills like this he's tried to pass. I'll do some research on him tomorrow.

This was in the email they sent out but doesn't seem to be on their web site. (I couldn't find it at the Dispatch site to link to it, but that's nothing new--I can never find anything there.)
