UPDATED: 2:18 pm EDT April 12, 2005

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Thousands of people gathered outside the Ohio Statehouse on Tuesday to protest proposed budget cuts that would affect health care premiums for many Ohioans.

They said that the state's proposed budget would prey on the most vulnerable of Ohio's citizens: the young, elderly and disabled.

The Campaign To Protect Ohio's Future organized the protest. They are a coalition of 370 organizations that came together to speak out against cuts to education, health care, food and housing.

The House Finance Committee approved the governor's budget early Monday. The House of Representatives could approve it as early as this week, but not if the thousands of protesters get their way, Scarborough reported.

We had 4 bus loads from Dayton! Lots of disabled and elderly there with their walkers going thru the Statehouse. It just breaks my heart.

The Republican Chair of the Health Committee was no where to be seen. I did speak to his Aids.

Runor has it that they will be up until Midnight getting passage of HB 66 Budget Bill shoved down our throats.
