Amusing question on local "school challenge" Cleveland show

Channel 5, Saturday nights, in Cleveland. Don't have the name of the show, but pits three schools against each other. Scholastic Challenge, I believe.

Anyway, there was a question to the effect "What Hollywood actor, when asked about the job of President, said " (something to the effect of) "'I don't think I want the job.', but later became President in 1980?" - answer, Ronald Reagan.

Funny, I remember some lie by W that he "really didn't want the job".

So, if the beloved (now deceased) Saint Ronnie of the Tax Cuts didn't want the job, why did he run in 1976 and 1980, and run for re-election in 1984?

Seems to me that these liars could always have said "no".
