Kerry Staff Arrive - Cincinnati, Ohio!
Edited on Sat May-15-04 03:55 PM by VolcanoJen
Below is the text of the email from Patrick Foster, Cincy's Field Organizer for Kerry, for all who didn't receive one. Let's win Hamilton County for Kerry!!

-----

Dear All,

Hello, my name is Patrick Foster and I will be organizing Cincinnati for John Kerry's Presidential Campaign. I know many of you have been anxiously awaiting the campaign to set up shop here and the amount of interest has been pleasantly overwhelming. This email is a long one, but please bare with me, there is a lot of information I want to convey to all of those who have shown interest in the campaign and I want to make sure I don't leave anything out.

As many of you may have heard I arrived in town this past Wednesday and have spent the last three days becoming acquainted with the city and meeting with as many people as possible. I am excited to be here in such a critical area in regards to the election. The election can be won or last here in Cincinnati and if the last three days are any indication, Hamilton County is going to play a large role in sending George W. Bush back to Crawford, Texas. For those of you who have emailed or called asking about information on how to volunteer, I thank you for your patience as I get settled.

I have had many requests for information about our office location, phone number, and how best to reach me.
I will be working out of the Hamilton County Democrats office at 615 Main St. in downtown Cincinnati (between 6th and 7th).
Currently I can be reached by phone on the main line at (513) 421-0495. We are hoping to have a Kerry specific line by next week.
Until that line is put in, the best way to reach me is by email at pfoster@johnkerry.com
Next, and most importantly, I will be holding the first Cincinnati for Kerry Volunteer Meeting in order to meet all of you who are interested in volunteering and also to be able to begin to create an organizational framework for our operation in Cincinnati. The meeting details are as follows:

What: Cincinnati for Kerry Volunteer Meeting
When: Monday, May 24th 7PM
Where: Letter Carriers Hall in Northside at 4100 Colerain Ave. (On the corner of Blue Rock and Colerain)
Who: Any member of the public who is interested in volunteering for John Kerry's Presidential Campaign in Cincinnati

So what do I do know you may be asking?
If you plan on attending the meeting, please respond to this email letting me know you intend on coming so I can get an idea of how many will be in attendance
Please feel free to forward this email on to any people you think may be interested in getting involved with the campaign
If you were forwarded this email and want to be added to our email list and/or want to come to the volunteer meeting, please email me at pfoster@johnkerry.com
If you feel you received this email in error, please send in an email to pfoster@johnkerry.com with the word REMOVE in the subject line and I will remove you from our list
The day after the meeting I will be sending out an email to everyone with an overview of the what occurred along with a questionnaire to fill out and send back for those that couldn't attend so we can place you in the organizational framework created at the meeting.

I know that was a lot to digest and again I thank you for your patience and interest in the campaign. The excitement surrounding the campaign is truly unbelievable and I am so happy to be a part of it. I hope to see you all on the 24th so we can begin to work towards the goal of winning Hamilton County and putting John Kerry in the White House!

Best wishes,
Patrick Foster

3. They'd be nutso to avoid Dayton.
MASS Dem votes to be harvested in Montgomery County. Dukakis, Clinton, Gore... each set up Dayton Offices. I'm sure Kerry will, too.

:D :D :D

4. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
I checked the Montgomery County Dem website (what a joke!) and nothing there. Guess I'll wait . . .

7. what have you been smoking? Mont. County is barley Dem.
...tho I think it can be won by the Democrats if they have a real strong GOTV/voter registration drive here...particularly among the African-American community and whats left of the union voters...

5. Everyone: Be sure to sign up as a volunteer on Kerry's website.

Even if you don't intend to volunteer :spank:, your email address will be added to the volunteer database, and you'll receive an email like the one that started this thread as soon as your local headquarters open up! That's how I heard the good news!!

VOLUNTEER FOR KERRY! Spend at least a handful of nights licking envelopes, stomping signs into the ground, and making phone calls. At the least, you'll meet wonderful, like-minded people! At the best, you'll be able to tell your grandkids that you were an integral part in kicking Bush back to Crawford!

9. Just back from a weekend in SW Ohio
In the interest of maintaining harmony, I do not discuss politics with family when I'm in that part of the state. They know my view point.

GOOD NEWS!! Family had some words to say about Bush. This happened in restaurants in both Montgomery and Hamilton counties. They were loud! They no longer support him and are VERY angry about the war. Since my husband still support the BFEE, I continued to lay low. It was fun to listen to others fill his ears about the mess in Iraq.

10. cmd - I never get tired of hearing stories like that!
Sure, anecdotal evidence can't really be trusted as an indicator of how the election will turn out, but it still very tellling when considering the recent poll results. We're gonna win this one in Ohio, I know it.

13. Last weekend in Mt. Healthy
We were registering voters at the Heritage Festival. This very nice older Republican man stopped by to chat for a few minutes -- very different from the other Republicans who give you nasty looks and mutter something unrepeatable as they pass by. Anyway, this guy told me that he's basically a Republican, although he has voted for a few Democrats over the years. Then he says, "I think this might be one of those years. We need a change in Washington."

12. Anybody see the Enquirer the other day?
Mocking Kerry because Bush had staff in the state back in January. They missed the obvious story line that Kerry is beating Bush without even trying yet!!!.
