Same county Two different ballots
Here in Cuyahoga County yesterday there appears to have been two different types of ballots in use. I voted on the one with Kerry in the top spot. The guy I work with voted in a different city but still Cuyahoga County, note the different placement of the names. Is this normal? Don't all these get counted on the same type of machines? Why are the names in different places?

Note: the sample on the left with Kerry's name on top may not be the exact likeness of the ballot I used, however the name placement is the important thing.

1. It is common
to rotate names of the candidates in different precincts. At least here in Kansas that's how they do it.

3. Absolutely correct.

They are rotated by precinct (in Ohio, anyway). My ballot had "Disqualified" at the top and Kerry at the bottom.

4. Wouldn't that open up a hornets nest
of problems when counting? Every time they change precincts they would have to reconfigure the counting machine.

2. Yes, it's normal. It combats the tendency to select the top of the list.

5. This was how mine looked:
If "candidate removed" was Nader, it would be in alphabetical order...
