Sheriff: 4-Year-Old Shoots Teen Babysitter for Stepping on Foot
Source: WSAZ

JACKSON, Ohio (WSAZ) -- Deputies say a bizarre shooting Sunday night involved a 4-year-old wielding a shotgun.

The Jackson County, Ohio, Sheriff says some teenagers were babysitting some younger children in a mobile home just outside Jackson.

The police report says a 4-year-old got angry after 18-year-old Nathan Beavers stepped on his foot.

The reports say the boy then went into a back room, loaded a shell in a 20-gauge shotgun, came out and shot Beavers in the arm. The babysitter was hospitalized, but the injury was not life-threatening.

How the hell does a 4-year old know how to load a shotgun?

Autoloader? Pump? Single shot? Double barrel? Lever? Striker 12?

I'm calling BS.

Those teens were probably high on something.

2. I don't believe a 4 yr old motor skills are developed enough to load a gun.
Nor would I think that his reach was long enough to aim the gun and pull the trigger?

11. definitely!!!
the 8 yr old son of my son's girlfriend has been hunting since he was 3. i remember watching him tote his guns out & watched him target shoot with my 26 yr old daughter. i was in awe of how mature he acted with his guns. his cousin who is about his age has always had the coordination of a much older person. i attributed to the athletic nature of their mothers.

5. A four year old isn't even in kindergarden
And I definitely call BS. There's no way a 4-year-old could load and shoot even a 20g shotgun.

4. "the child has not been charged"
WTF? What a world we live in that the news story has to clarify that.

9. I'd like to know if the child's fingerprints and mug was taken.
I'm assuming standard handcuffs don't fit on this kid, so thumb cuffs might have been used to secure the perp.

7. Huh. This happened in a mobile home you say?
Who'da thunk?

Is it just me, or does this read like something from an episode of My Name is Earl?

10. No frigging way. A 20ga shotgun would knock a 4 yr old on its ass.
I hoped they checked everyone there for gunshot residue. The truth shouldnt be hard to get to.
