I am trying to research the voting record of our R state rep.

Is there an authoritative site that summarizes bills that came up and how each member voted ?

1. At the state level, it might be that there is no easy way to do this, but...

and, if you're not satisfied, call your local public library reference librarian, and let her fingers do the walking....

Part of the problem is that it is difficult to keep up with the daily, constantly changing menu of resources available.

You best bet is to call your local, professionally trained librarian.

2. Knowing the details of specific legislation might help, too.

Like knowing the Bill number and so forth. If you can't find it online, call the rep's office, and ask. I've had some contact in the past with a rep's office, and they were very friendly and helpful.

Whatever happened to newspapers publishing the weekly legislative action in their Sunday editions? Does any newspaper do that anymore? That would actually be a -- dare I say it? -- public service.
