1. Sweet
Jennifer hasn't disappointed me yet. However, she has an enormous job ahead of her with Cuyahoga County. My suggestion to her would be to involve all the colleges and universities in the county. Use the students as poll workers.

4. the roles are finally reversed. they can only fight us on so many fronts.
they've got Strickland in court, they know that Deb Pryce is going to get her butt kicked next go-round. They are trying to keep Ohio legislators in national leadership while they're battling for their political lives here. Regula will have to run again, and that was not to be the plan. etc. etc. it's piling up for them.

He must be getting up there in years. They'll need to replace him sooner or later.

7. 4:08 pm Ohio breaking news: Brunner suspends Bennett
Edited on Tue Apr-03-07 05:57 PM by poli speak
he cant take any further actions as a board member.

guess he can't hire anyone, direct anyone, or encumber any money to defend him now!

This is better than a Law and Order show!

14. "It looks constitutional to me."
He argued that going forward with the hearing would irreparably harm Bennett, and that more time should be taken first for a court to consider the constitutionality of the law.

But Dann, representing Brunner, said that argument is “absurd” and that Brunner is going beyond what the law requires to ensure Bennett's legal rights are protected.

He noted the law allows a secretary state to “summarily” remove elections board members for just cause.

Connor agreed with Dann and refused to grant the temporary restraining order.

“It looks constitutional to me,” the judge said of the law in question.

TEE HEE. I love it.

21. many thanks Bob
as long as Bennett and his party continue to fight with Brunner, they are roasting
republican prospects in 2008.

I think we should be grateful to him and his pals for keeping the issue in the
spotlight.

Eerily, Bob's behavior reminds me of our friend from the Youngstown 'burbs
currently serving time in Federal penitentiary.

The Republicans still think they rule, unfortunately, but I'll take it, and thanks to BorealAvenger for staying on top of this story, too.

And thank God for our new Governor, The Honorable Ted Strickland.

25. Good job! Now if she would just
do the same in Guernsey County. It is really bad!!!! The board of elections director gave herself and the assistant a 30% ILLEGEL raise while the rest of the county employees were given a 3% raise. The 4 members of the board did NOT authorize this raise and were like stunned deers in a head light when confronted, "what? a raise? we didn't authorize a raise?. Better yet, one of the board members is the directors AUNT. The directors answer when asked why she did it? "I deserve more money". There have been so much corrupt shit going on down here. The current board members need to be removed and the director and the assistant (which by the way was caught stealing off of other employees in the office and WAS NOT fired, just made to pay it back)need to be REMOVED.
