I am so proud of her out fighting for every vote, her campaign,
and all the wonderful people I met in her organization.

Mary Jo you will always be "good people" in my book.

1. Damn.
Well...Pryce is going to have to move out of her office, right? Maybe to one with no window and it's next to the restroom that has a leak so her office always has a faint odor of sewage.

2. Phoey.
I'd been hoping to be represented by someone who wouldn't send me back republican talking points as responses to letters. I just gave up sending anything to Pryce on any issue, as it was obvious she doesn't listen to her constituents.

3. You noticed that, too, huh?
Yeah, her letters were never responsive so I gave up on her as well. Our only hope is that the closeness of the race will serve as a wake-up call that all is not right in Pryce-land.

Next time...

4. I am really disappointed; I really thought she had the momentum and the numbers
on her side.

Was there something that happened in the last few weeks of the campaign that stalled it somehow?

She is the best of people: principled, bright and dedicated. Able in every respect.

5. Kilroy did have the momentum and the #s over Pryce
Pryce never polled above 44% the whole time but come election day
she "magically" got 51%.

Pryce also ran away from her last CNN interview when the subject of Iraq
came up.

Pryce also got her ass kicked in her debate w/ Kilroy

Kilroy had a 12 point lead in polls too.

"Something" happened.

Thank God we have our new Sec. of State, Jennifer Brunner and A.G., Marc Dunn.

6. I watched the video on the Columbus Dispatch web site where Pryce
said, "It would be nice to hear from the Kilroy campaign," after basically inferring that she (Pryce) and her campaign had been more than patient with the process, inferring somehow that Mary Jo had not been, I guess, and that it was a trivial exercise with pre-determined results evidently. She, Ms. Pryce, could not have possibly been NOT relected, right?

The arrogance of power is sickening sometimes.

9. a question for people who live in Franklin County and/or worked on Mary Jo's campaign
I was so convinced that she had enough money in hand, in addition to the momentum, during the last few weeks of the campaign. Now I have heard that for every 2 or 3 tv commercials during an hour, Pryce was running up to twenty. In the end, I guess Pryce's campaign was inundated with money from the state and national republican organizations. I had my own priorities during those last weeks, so I lost touch with my sources inside that campaign.

Now I have learned from a very reliable source that Chris Redfern was dating someone on Pryce's campaign, and that it was only after the couple was "called out" on this obvious conflict, did the girlfriend quit the Pryce campaign (I think she works somewhere in the state or national mechanations of the Republican Party now).

I questioned Chris Redfern's judgement when he picked up the tab for a joint D-R get-together shortly after I think the time he became State Party Chair. The Republicans involved claimed to have left their credit cards in the office or some such nonsense, and I suspected the occurrence was a set-up all along. Even if it wasn't, I was angered at the time that he didn't leave the R's to stew in their own juices. They would have never paid us the same favor. I still don't understand how some in our Party think there is any getting along to do with R's. They shut us out and screw us over and average Ohioans and Americans everyday, and there is no end to it.

I am not in the habit of trashing our Party Chairs; I think it is too much and too convenient of a sport among certain party activists and officials, and I think, ultimately, however much the Chair is able to accomplish in what are a limited number of hours in the day, that there is a limit to what they can realistically do or effect. And they are just human beings like the rest of us who never get to do everything we want to do either. However, we have not heard much from Mr. Redfern since the end of the campaign, nor has the ODP website been updated or maintained on a meaningful basis.

Does anyone have anything to share on either one of these two issues?

10. This sounds like the laments of the previous ODP leadership that I read on the DU/Ohio forum
That they were "buddies" with the senior people in the Ohio GOP. If I had time I would dig them up. Do you remember when the ODP was selecting new leadership? Was that mid-2005??

11. What I remember is Denny White resigning around the time John Ryan was making a concerted effort to
trash Tom Sawyer who ran to replace Sherrod Brown in the primary.

I have a call into a friend who can fill me in on more details when he calls me back this afternoon. This past campaign and everything that happened is rough series of blurs, as I was trying to keep up and help out on several campaigns, and was also dismayed when Denny White left because he and Frances Strickland bro't the Party light years ahead with their commitment to getting technology and training to all of the County party operations.
