Patricia Delaney for 5th District Judge
I just rec'd this e-mail from my sister who lives in Chagrin Falls.
Please pass on to your "friends and relatives" who live in these counties.
Gary is my sister's husband.

Dear Friends and Relatives,

It's election time and Gary's cousin is running for judge in the 5th
District Ohio Court of Appeals. Some of you live in this district and
some
of you don't. The counties included are Ashland, Coshocton, Delaware,
Fairfield, Guernsey, Holmes, Knox, Licking, Morgan, Morrow, Muskingum,
Perry, Richland, Stark and Tuscarawas. Please take a few minutes to
read
about Patricia Delaney. If you feel that you can support her candidacy,
I
hope you will vote for her (if you live in this district) or (if you
don't
live in this district) that you will pass this email on to your friends
and
relatives who do. For those of you in the 5th District, I hope that you
will
do both!

Margie

1. Patricia Delaney is a lovely woman
I spent a great deal of time talking with her one on one at our county picnic. I wish she lived next door to me.

2. Great person, great judicial candidate
Pat is the 1st person (probably ever) to run for the 5th Appellate District from Delaware County. In the past, the judge candidates usually have been from Canton, Stark being the most populous county in the District. I have always been 'politically aware,' but I never had a clue about the identity the appellate judge candidates on the ballot.

Pat is a good Democrat, but the race technically is nonpartisan. No party designation will appear on the ballot. What this means is that NAME RECOGNITION is EVERYTHING in a judge race.

For those in the 5th Appellate District, make sure you tell your D friends and family to vote for Pat Delaney. Tell your I and R friends that Pat is being supported by the very Republican bar and judges in Delaware County. Tell them she has been endorsed by the Akron Beacon Journal.

Put up one of Pat's (Irish green) yard signs.

Send a couple bucks to her campaign:

Citizens for Delaney
2550 Tucker Trail
Lewis Center, OH 43035
:bounce: :dem: :applause:

7. Yard Signs
The Delaware Coounty Democratic Party has a store front on N. Sandusky St in Down town Delaware. They'll have signs. They may want a small ($5-10) donation. I don't have the address, but it's next to the Hamburger Inn. If you get a chance stop in for a real dining experience.

I've met Pat and she's a real winner.

9. Permanent HQ
The brand new, fully remodeled, PERMANENT, Delaware County Democratic Party headquarters is at 12 1/2 North Sandusky St. As the "1/2" implies, it is on the 2nd floor. It is open (at least for now) at 11:00 a.m. (except Sunday). Check out the schedule on the website http://www.deladems.org/dems/.

Right now, there are over 25 phones in place and we are doing phone banking Monday and Wednesday evenings. That will increase as we approach November. Again, the info is on the Web site.

It's a great space that is available for use by candidates and other democratic/progressive groups.
