2. I hope this bodes well for the entire Dem ticket...
Licking County has a great handout (just a 1/2 page) with all the state/national candidates on one side and all of the County candidates on the other along with info on Early Voting and the BoE's phone number.

We have to stress voting the entire Dem ticket. With Strickland polling this strongly, we have to tell folks that he needs other Dems in office to TURN THIS STATE AROUND.

3. Sweet, sweet news!
Still, we'd better work like hell. And if we're going to redirect any kind of efforts away from Strickland, they'd better be pointed in Sherrod Brown's direction. I'd rather we just add on volunteers and point them Sherrod's way.

We want that Senate seat so bad we can taste it... I'm energized and excited, Buckeyes. Let's get worked up!

4. Did you SEE the new DSCC ad for Brown today?
Edited on Tue Sep-19-06 10:31 AM by mtnester
With the little children singing in it? OMG...I have yet to find a vid clip online, but I first saw it TWICE this morning during the morning news casts.

Priceless! And with Brown up what is is now....did I see 6 points yesterday over DeWhine?

It is now up to GOTV and watching for poll shenanigans...anyone know if there is an official poll watch organization like election protection going out this year?

7. Jen, the song they sang in the background was...
"The more we get together, together, together...the more we get together the happier we'll be...For your friends are our friends and our friends are your friends...etc etc" The singing went on for the entire commercial while....

...continual pictures of DeWhine and Bush hanging out, hugging each other, laughing... and subtitles about voting for drug company friends and oil company friends and tax cuts for the rich (or some form of these subtitles)...it is BRUTAL..and quite humorous to boot!

You know the song melody...I think it is a song we all learn by the time we are 3 or 4. Lemme look some more for it online.

8. Oh, that sounds awesome!!
This is what I want to see Sherrod (and all Dems, nationwide) do... make this midterm election about holding Bush accountable.

I think it's a message people are ready to vote on. I really do.

10. I am still not finding it...just keep your EARS peeled
There is no overdub of anyone's voice...just the kids singing.

The second time it was on this morning (around 6:15), I was upstairs getting dressed and watching TV while I was getting ready for work, and hubby was watching TV downstairs...I heard him ROAR with laughter clear upstairs...he was watching the same channel (WBNS10TV out of Columbus, you know...the Columbus Disgrace's station). The first time it was on was about 5:45 or so. I was almost sure I saw it was a DSCC ad...but, I could be wrong because it was SO good.

9. From the PD about the ad
Perhaps the strongest, and most negative, commercial of the season is out, mocking Sen. Mike DeWine. The ad, sponsored by the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, starts as if it were a commercial for DeWine -- showing him in a plaid shirt saying, "We all have to work together, Democrats and Republicans." And it is, in fact, from a DeWine campaign commercial.

But any confusion ends there, because children's voices come in immediately, singing, "The more we work together, together, together... 'Cause your friends are my friends and my friends are your friends..." And the image changes to one of DeWine together with President Bush, both of them laughing.

It is not the most flattering picture, and the camera moves in closer, and closer, and closer. Meantime the message is superimposed: "DeWine has worked together....voting 92 percent of the time....with George Bush."

And: "Increasing the national debt to $9 trillion."

And: "Tax breaks for companies that move jobs overseas."

And: "Mike DeWine likes working together with George Bush."

12. Fantastic!!
When will Whiny DeWine start whining about the "negative" tone?

That should be humorous.

5. Go With Strickland
We need every democrat candidate to jump on this bandwagon. If you can't have Strickland on the stage with you then just use his name during your speach.

19. But what do polls mean?
They are a point in time, today.

I have the feeling on November 8, we will find the Republicans as having been elected, the voting machines will have glitches, the polls will have been found to be wrong prior to election, and Democrats will have lost.

However, I will be voting for my Democrats in the event of a slim chance...that there will be no errors with the voting machines and the polls actually are right!

20. none
I hope he keeps a strong lead and wins this thing. What do you think the Reps are going to pull? I don't think there's much they can do at this point - a rigging would be pretty obvious with polls all reporting double-digit leads. But, I'm still afraid. You know the Reps are going to hold onto Ohio with everything they have. Isn't Dewine enough for them, lol?
