Education at 4-year state schools 45% higher

When it comes to paying tuition bills in Ohio, the average four-year public university student can expect to pay 45 percent more than others nationally to get a degree.
That figure jumps to 52 percent more for community college students, compared to what their peers are assessed in other states.
The tuition findings were just a few of the comparisons contained in the annual Ohio Board of Regents performance report, which was released yesterday. The report includes institutional data as well as overall snapshots of higher education in the state — in both the public and private sectors.
According to the regents, average undergraduate tuition for state-supported, four-year campuses was $7,941 for this academic year, compared to $5,491 nationally. At two-year schools, students pay $3,328 in Ohio, compared to $2,191 for other U.S. areas...
