Anyone familiar with RTI?
Does anyone know anything about the Research Triangle Institute?

I don't know anything about them, but I am curious. Do you know anyone who works there? What do they do?

1. they do a lot of US AID work, plus NSF/NIH funded research
It's infamously disorganized and bureaucratic. Like a university, but worse. Apparently, people in one hall don't know what people on the other are doing. Are you applying for a job there?

Saw your post about Cary. I live in Cary and travel on Weston Parkway a lot. Just got back from walking on the greenway. I have a silver minivan with a Howard Zinn quote on the back (that someone has tried to key off, of course.)

2. Welcome to DU, zazen!
:hi:

Yes, I was thinking of applying for a job there. It's one that, it seems has been open for the last six months or so. Not sure, because I don't know about RTI, I work in corp america.

I usually don't go to Cary, since I live in Orange County, but I happened to be there Wednesday. :-)

3. some job openings at IPAS closer to H'borough
IPAS--international post-abortion services--has several positions open. If you're looking at RTI, you might be in a similar business (international aid work)? <http://www.ipas.org>

Well, my experiences in large corporations have largely sucked, so I'd infinitely prefer RTI, if I had to take a permanent position (I consult for non-profits, so I have the luxury of being able to hang around in my bathrobe a lot of the day.)

Good luck!

6. "CRO" is clinical research organization, right?
They do the clintrials research. I think the Triangle has been the hub of that burgeoning industry, or was (PPD, Clintrials, Quintiles, etc). I suspect some of it's being outsourced overseas now.
