It's Coming Home...
The Canadian Forum Sends It's Regrets...Early

Boo-Yah!!

You Can't Touch This...

The Team that going to do It...

Boo-Yah!!

Picture this

The Hurricanes would love to have an opportunity to spend some time with the well-traveled Stanley Cup

Worshiped on the one hand, abused on the other. NHL players refuse to touch it until they earn it. Then, once they earn it, all bets are off. Meet Lord Stanley's Cup, the legendary column of hardware that is handed over to the NHL champion at the end of each season.

Once the cup is awarded, the superstition and the reverence for the 113-year-old trophy often turn into an overflow of hugs, kisses, slobber, joy, tears and some unintentional and good-natured abuse.

The Carolina Hurricanes and the Edmonton Oilers are hoping to get their hands on it as they start the final round of the Stanley Cup playoffs tonight at the RBC Center.

Unlike trophies in other professional sports that sit in temperature-controlled, hermetically sealed glass cases, the Stanley Cup spends a lot of time out in the real world, much of it in the possession of the league's title holders.

7. OK We're Back...

Made a few adjustments to our playbook, replaced Roloston and delayed Carolina's flight...

And we are still taking the Cup back home!!!

Hockey Primer for New Fans
Now for Carolina's 'newer' hockey fans who might be getting interested in hockey --getting a short-handed goal scored against YOU in the overtime period of a Stanley Cup playoff game is really really bad and embarassing by any sports standards.

Also for newer fans of the game down in Raleigh...it's not a ball that bounces, but a puck that slides and the 'net' stays on ground--you don't hang the net off a pole with a basket and you don't get 3 points if you get a 'goal' from outside of the blue line. And no, cars are not allowed on the ice, even though a hockey rink kinda looks like oval.

But you can drink beer :-)

Have Fun!!

Who needs Gas, when you got OIL

Oh...forgot...the Other Hockey Thread
