Anyone familiar with the Avon area?

Hi NC! I am going to be attending a cousin's wedding in Avon in May. There doesn't seem to be much as far as accommodations there, other than houses for rent. Maybe Hatteras might be a better bet? My sister and her husband and I were talking about renting a condo or a hotel room with a suite. I just thought I'd pop in here and see if anyone had any suggestions for me :-)

1. Depending on how far

you're willing to drive, Hattaras Village, or Buxton would be a good bet. Ocracoke is very nice, but you would have to arrange ferry rides.

Much of the OBX are a National Seashore, so development is limited to small cottages, B&Bs, and motels from the 50s. lol. Big resorts are limited mostly to Duck in the north and Wilmington at the south end.

You might also try craigslist under vacation rentals for Raleigh/Durham. lots of folks list their cottages and condos. Here's one:

It's a beautiful place (OBX) You may want to check into renting a small house on the "sound side" and split it with another couple if possible. This may be cheaper then a hotel/motel.

Love your "help restore democracy" I love Obama and wish people would be patient. He as a BIG mess to clean up.
