NY 19th District
I just moved from Western NY to Dutchess county, around the Poughkeepsie area. Can anyone tell me anything about local politcs/Democratic party? I know the area is pretty red and that Sue Kelly is the Rep, but that is about it. Any info would be appreciated.

1. John Hall... a *fantastic* candidate... is the DEM ....
nominee against Kelly. He aced the DEM primary and has a reasonably good shot at retiring Kelly.

It's normally a Republican district. But Hall is an unusually appealing candidate: smart, articulate accomplished.

3. Thanks!
There is a lot of good information there! Glad to see this place isn't as red as I was led to believe.

4. Just received from John Hall's (yeah!!!!) Campaign today!
(PS - Welcome to my district!!!!)

Dear John Hall Volunteer Corps,

On behalf of the John Hall for Congress Campaign, THANK YOU for helping us win the Primary. Our victory belongs to you, our volunteers. We absolutely could not have done it without you.

Now the bigger challenge commences -- defeating Sue Kelly. John will need many times the number of Primary votes he received to win the general election. This means our phone banks and door knocking efforts must be MUCH bigger.

We need at least 1000 volunteers to win in November. We trust that we can count on you. To that end, here are the first two things we would like you to do:

1. Every Tuesday and Sunday at 6pm we'll be conducting volunteer orientations at our Beacon office (420 Main St, Beacon - map & directions). We'll talk strategy and lay out the various roles we must fill in order to win. So please, come to our office for an orientation and choose where you best fit into this historic campaign.

2. Almost 400 of you have already signed up to volunteer. That's almost half of our 1000 person goal. When you come to your first orientation, bring one other person -- a friend, spouse, co-worker, whoever! If all of you bring one person, we can double our efforts overnight.

If coming to a meeting is impossible, you or your new recruit(s) can contact me at 845-831-1735, or jonathanw@johnhallforcongress.com. But please, try to make it in person.

Again, thank you, and remember -- this campaign belong to all of us. We can't win without you, and we WILL win with you!

Sincerely,

Jonathan Wright
Volunteer Recruiter/Coordinator
John Hall for Congress
