Rally, march in Newburgh to save St. Mary’s Church


Former Assemblyman Lawrence Bennett echoed those sentiments. “Regardless of what religion we embrace, there is certain basic humanity we have about us to shelter the homeless, to feed the starving and bring comfort to the least among us, and Fr. Bill is such a great example of that.”

State Senator William Larkin credited Fr. Bill with rejuvenated St. Mary’s Church over the 10 years he has been assigned there.

The Archdiocese will hear an appeal on its decision later this month.
