How do you feel about the WTC being renamed to "Freedom Tower"?

Does this irk anyone else?

Every time I hear this phrase, it makes me think of the new structure
as nothing more than a gigantic trophy to the neo-cons for
their "success" in getting the new "Pearl Harbor" they so longed for
-- or as Shrub laughed about -- "hitting the trifecta." (Remember PNAC?).

It also evokes the thought of the building as an Orwellian
"Ministry of Freedom" monument to Bushco, given this administration's
obsession with oppressing, perverting and rescinding freedom wherever
it may be found.

Every time I hear this phrase "Freedom Tower" -- I can't help but
think it was probably the second choice, right after
"Our Dear Leader Tower."

8. I feel about how I felt about "Freedom Fries". In fact, it even kind of...

... LOOKS like a "freedom" (french) fry. Why not add krinkle cuts?

The fact that they are even building it is an invitation to terrorists. The fact that they are claiming it will be "almost impermeable and impregnable" might be too good for them to pass up.

Why even build a building? They should have simply "built" a huge green space -- a "Central Park South". It would have been a fitting response (WWJD?) and a fitting memorial to those lost.

As it is, it just seems like a game of "whose c%#* is bigger".

9. How about the Bush-Cheney Penitentiary?

I prefer they leave the site as an open-air stockade. Bush, Cheney and other reponsible officials should be jailed there after they're prosecuted for 3,000 counts of negligent homicide, obstruction of justice, and perjury. Then, there's the time they're going to have to do for their war crimes.

Their cell should kept open to close visits by the public. Maybe they should be transferred back and forth by the CIA to a similar site in Baghdad.
