Peter King (R-Asshole) thinks his constituents are "wacko malcontents."
Edited on Thu Apr-14-05 02:13 PM by Bleachers7
They wanted a regularly sponsored town hall meeting with their elected representative, to discuss the government's plans for Social Security, but Congressman Peter King declined to host such a meeting. So they held one themselves and invited the Republican representative to address their concerns.

But while some 400 constituents showed up, the key figure, King himself, left an empty chair. One after another, LI citizens took to the microphone to talk about the significance of Social Security benefits

The event was organized by the In This Together campaign, which was formed for the purpose of supporting Social Security, by educating the public about its benefits and promises. The group absolutely opposes any effort to cut benefits or divert money to private accounts.

The group has been dogging Rep. King on the issue. In television interviews, King has described the group as unpatriotic and "wacko malcontents." King, LI's lone Republican congressional rep., has steadfastly supported President Bush's plan to overhaul the social security system.

1. This guy sounds like a real dip,
referring to his own constituents by terms like these.

He has shown himself to be a real a-hole, and I hope the good citizens of LI will vote his behind out of office whenever he's up for re-election.

Listen, the Republicans think that for some reason that we will give up w/o a fight, boy is he wrong, my grandfather participated in one of the first strikes in this country, he said that the government called in the National Guard to break the strike and the strikers blood ran down the street, but we still got the unions, they are in for a big surprise.

8. Do you have a link for that Bleacher?
I can't stand King, and I think I may be on his hit list. I never miss a chance to write or call his office.

He wrote and told me I didn't understand the intrinsics of Social Security, and if I did, I would be supportive of him and Bush*. I answered him back, but haven't received a reply to it yet.

4. Jeez, what a candy-ass pansy this guy is. . .Typical Repuke asshole.
In contrast, this Sunday, MY US representative, Nita Lowey (20th CD, NY) will be at our church this Sunday to meet with constituents, FACE-TO-FACE.

She's been doing this in her district for the 17 years she's been in Congress, scheduling town meetings throughout the district. I always look forward to coming to one.

She has a reputation among her peers in Congress for this practice. This is why we keep sending her back to DC.

Your Organizer, Vicki L. Trojnor, sent the following message to
the members of The Utica Democracy for America Meetup Group:

Dear Members and Activists,

As you all know our local Republican Representatives , Boehlert and Walsh have refused repeated request by various groups, including ours to have Townhall meetings on Social Security. While President Bush and other administration officials are flying around the country and touching down in cities in West Virginia, Michigan and elsewhere trying to sell their idea of PIRATIZING/PRIVATIZING Social Security our Republican members of Congress remain silent.
It's time to apply a bit of the grassroots pressure to them. That's why Fingerlakes DFA, Binghamton Citizens Action and the Working Familes Party is planning a Rally on the steps of Rep Boehlert's Cortland Office.

Please come out and lend a hand. Social Security is not just for retirement benefits. It's an insurance program that protects the disabled and the widowed.

Come and lend your voice , and bring a homemade sign. Some
suggestions are "Why won't you meet with us?" "Don't
Piratize/Privatize Social Security" "Townhall Meetings are
Democracy in Action"

When: Wednesday April 13th 12:30 p.m.
Where: Rep Boehlert's Cortland Office
75 Church ST
Cortland, NY 13045

9. who's the worst terrorist
Edited on Sun May-01-05 06:37 PM by nedbal
So I wrote the following here some time ago about King. Some here believe he's a freedom fighter supporter. The other side over there are the real terrorists not the IRA which King is an avid supporter of.

5. the IRA

are freedom fighters fighting against an illegal occupatio of their homeland. More people have been killed by protestant paramilitaries than the IRA. Secondly, the DUP didn't even sign the good friday agreement. Attack Peter King about many things, but not this.
